Dr. Brewer joined the University of Chicago in February 2018. From 2011-2017, he served as Director of the HIV/STI Portfolio at the Louisiana Public Health Institute in New Orleans. His research and intervention efforts are focused on understanding and eliminating the socio-structural barriers to HIV services among young Black men who have sex with men (YBMSM), persons living with HIV infection (PLWH), and criminal justice-involved populations in Chicago and the Southern United States.
