The laboratory of Dr. Thomas Hope is looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to contribute to their basic research program on HIV and AIDS. The Research Technologist 2 or 3 will learn and be responsible for performing basic experiments with cells as well as run immunological, virological, molecular biology assays (including, but not limited to flow cytometry and microscopy staining, qPCRs, and ELISA). They will help to process blood and tissue specimens from humans and macaque studies on HIV transmission and pathogenesis and organize and keep updated laboratory and sample records and help with everyday laboratory tasks and organization.

Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines and previous experience with immunological and molecular assays (ELISA, PCRs, flow cytometry and/or microscopy).
Research Technologist 3 (Job ID 40247)
Required qualifications include: Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related disciplines and 3-4 years experience with immunological and molecular assays (ELISA, PCRs, flow cytometry and/or microscopy).
