Third Coast CFAR member Michael Newcomb, PhD, has been awarded a $9 million U01 from NIAID to lead a national-scale expansion of 2GETHER, his evidence-based relationship education and HIV prevention intervention for young MSM. The hybrid trial will enroll 5,000 HIV-negative young MSM and is designed to evaluate 2GETHER’s effectiveness and to study barriers and facilitators to its implementation.
Dr. Newcomb is a former CFAR pilot awardee and directs ISGMH’s Center for Translational Health Research and Interventions Advancing Equity for Sexual and Gender Minorities (THRIVE Center).
