The Chicago Black Gay Men’s Caucus (CBGMC) is a grassroots, community-based organization whose mission is to advance health equity among Black gay, bisexual and same gender loving men by developing community-centered leadership and innovative programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the organization’s operations, while spearheading organizational development and strategic planning. He/she/they provide organizational- level leadership and vision in support of the CBGMC mission.

This position is the principal steward of CBGMC’s central philosophy: health equity, including the elimination of new HIV infections and achieving undetectability for those living with HIV, necessitates both community-led and community-informed models of work. Within CBGMC’s grassroots organizational structure, the Executive Director works hands-on to meet operational demands. All aspects of administration, development, programming, and public relations fall within the Executive
Director’s purview.

The objective of this position, broadly, is to both ensure the fiscal integrity and programming momentum of the organization while meeting strategic goals to achieve health equity among Black gay, bisexual, and same gender loving men in the Chicago area. The Executive Director is responsible for modeling CBGMC’s values by creating a high morale and performance work-culture based on affirmation and health.
