The Emerging and Re-Emerging Pathogens Program (EREPP) in Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases requests applications to support research proposals focused on emerging and remerging infections. Applications may request support for basic, translational or clinical research. Projects should represent a new direction for the investigators rather than an expansion of an existing project. Preference will be given to collaborative projects and those that involve junior faculty. Areas of special interest include COVID-19 and antimicrobial resistance.

Please note expanded eligibility requirements: Applicants must hold a rank of Assistant Professor (including Research Assistant Professors) or higher. At least one of the co-investigators must hold a primary appointment within the Division of Infectious Diseases at Feinberg.

Budget: A maximum of $50,000; direct costs only.

Duration: A maximum of 12 months.

Deadline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Application Procedure: Please submit a two-page overview of the project that includes the investigative team, the budget, a description of the research project (including its relevance to emerging and re-emerging infections and how it differs from the established and ongoing research performed by the group) and plans for how the award will lead to additional funding. Applications should be sent to: ahauser@northwestern.edu.
