Prepping Parents for PrEP (P3) is a pilot project created for parents of gay, bisexual, and queer teen guys, funded by the Third Coast CFAR (P30 AI117943). The goal is to learn more about how parents of gay, bi, and queer teen guys feel about PrEP and the kinds of information they need about it. Dr. David Moskowitz, P3’s PI, hypothesizes that by educating parents, they will feel more comfortable and empowered to have better conversations with their teens about how to stay safe and HIV negative.

Third Coast CFAR members are encouraged to share information about P3 with their contacts to support recruitment of parents of young gay/bisexual guys who want to benefit their teens and themselves by participating in research. P3 includes online focus groups centered around teen sexual health and parenting GBQ teens. Participants will chat with other parents and, if eligible, receive up to $80 for participating. For additional information about P3, email (p3@northwestern.edu), or text or call the team (224-306-9227).
