On March 22, 2018 the Tennessee Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) will host an Inter-CFAR workshop entitled “Partnerships between HBCUs and CFARs – Addressing the Underrepresentation of African American Investigators in HIV/AIDS”.

This Workshop is intended to foster synergistic partnerships between historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and CFARs concentrating on understanding and addressing the underrepresentation of African American Investigators in HIV/AIDS; identify the highest actionable priorities for partnerships between HBCUs and non-HBCU academic institutions at CFARs, so as to address the underrepresentation of African American investigators in HIV/AIDS; and create working groups that collaborate after the workshop to address the identified priorities.

The Workshop will be held at The Cal Turner Family Center at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Attendees will include representatives from CFARs, HBCUs, governmental organizations, and community.
