Developing Community-Academic HIV Research Partnerships

In July 2021, the Ending the HIV Epidemic Scientific Working Group (EHE SWG) and Community Collaboration Board led a workshop, in conjunction with Scientific and Developmental Cores, to describe resources and tools for developing community-academic HIV research partnerships. Three collaborations that have received Developmental Core funding and CFAR core services offered their insights on exploring and developing new partnerships. The presentation includes practical tips on communication strategies, sharing resources and workload, and early outcomes from their collaborations.

The Developmental Core offers two mechanisms to fund engagement between local community organizations and CFAR faculty. View the RFAs for Community Collaborative and Community Mini Awards. CFAR faculty and affiliate members are encouraged to utilize services provided by the Behavioral, Social, and Implementation Sciences and Clinical Sciences Cores to facilitate new partnerships.
