The Center for Innovation in Point-of-Care Technologies for HIV/AIDS and Emerging Infectious Diseases at Northwestern University (C-THAN) is seeking feedback from people involved in HIV services, including medical providers, to help improve the development of future point-of-care technologies through a survey-based study. The study, “Conjoint Analysis for HIV Viral Load Point-of-Care Test” (NU IRB STU00220919), aims to understand user sentiments around point-of-care HIV molecular testing, such as viral load and the Nucleic Acid Amplification Test.
If you’re interested in providing input, please fill out the study survey by clicking on the button below. Your feedback will provide guidance for developing tests that improve health outcomes by enabling early and accurate detection of HIV and timely initiation and monitoring of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and antiretroviral therapy (ART).
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will close on October 26, 2025. The study is coordinated by Kara Palamountain and Rebecca Kirby at Northwestern University.
About the Center
C-THAN is one of six centers that comprise the NIH’s Point-of-Care Technology Research Network (POCTRN). Based in Northwestern University’s Robert J. Havey Institute for Global Health, the center aims to promote the development of a pipeline of point-of-care technologies to meet the clinical needs of people who live with HIV/AIDS and emerging infectious diseases in low-resource settings. C-THAN utilizes collaborative research projects to develop novel point-of-care technologies aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment monitoring of HIV/AIDS, HIV-associated co-morbidities, or emerging infectious diseases in low-resource settings.
