Dr. Markella Zanni is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Women’s Health Research in the Metabolism Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Zanni leads a clinical/translational research program focused on elucidating mechanisms of myocardial infarction and heart failure among women and men with HIV. She also serves on the leadership team overseeing the Randomized Trial to Prevent Vascular Events in HIV (REPRIEVE), the largest international randomized trial evaluating a primary cardiovascular disease prevention strategy among people with HIV. Dr. Zanni’s work has been published in interdisciplinary journals including the Journal of Infectious Diseases, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
