The Center on Halsted will acknowledge World AIDS Day by bringing together individuals to commemorate strides made in HIV/AIDS research, prevention, and outreach work while inspiring a generation to live in supportive communities and advocate for their own health and well-being.

This year, we are joined by Ken Like Barbie, Chicago’s lovable, award-winning vlogger and HIV/AIDS Advocate, who will share his uplifting story. Center on Halsted is also featuring two art exhibits that tackle with HIV/AIDS subjects: a preview of When Dogs Heal and Years Yet Yesterday. A portion of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will also be on display.

Join us, and other community service providers, as we inspire individuals to take their own health and well-being into their hands. Center on Halsted will be joined by partner agencies to offer free HIV and STI testing throughout the day, as well as other health screenings, and breakout sessions to promote healthy living in the LGBTQ community.
