The Third Coast CFAR’s Ending the HIV Epidemic Scientific Working Group (EHE SWG), led by Drs. Inger Burnett-Zeigler and Gregory Phillips, is pleased to share that the NIH has released three RFAs for multi-year, collaborative research awards that will support the EHE initiative:
Multidisciplinary Treatment Approaches to End the HIV Epidemic (Treat and Diagnose Pillars)
RFA-AI-21-024 (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)
Many entities in Chicago have been successful in securing funds for EHE through NIH, CDC, and HRSA. The EHE SWG anticipates that there will be a great deal of interest in these new NIH RFAs. As such, the SWG leaders would like to hear from local HIV investigators, service providers, and policymakers regarding the ways the EHE SWG and CFAR can support collaboration and proposal development.
The objectives of this forum are: to 1) briefly describe NIAID’s FY21 EHE RFAs, particularly their requirements related to science-practice partnerships and integration of implementation frameworks; and 2) identify opportunities for collaboration.
Suggestions for additional topics are welcome. Please contact the EHE SWG leaders or CFAR administrator Justin Schmandt with feedback or questions.
