  • Identify missed opportunities for HIV diagnosis and linkage to care
  • Synthesize strategies to improve early diagnosis and linkage to care for HIV positive clients
  • Understand the current recommended HIV testing algorithm and how to interpret discordant results
  • Discuss challenges and best practices for notification, linkage to care, and treatment of potentially acutely infected HIV positive clients
  • Discuss local institution’s experiences with increasing volume of acute HIV infections identified, and corresponding challenges and opportunities

 

Intended Audience:  Physicians, Physician Assistants, Dentists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists and other healthcare providers who are managing patients with HIV disease.

Continuing Nursing Education units will be provided by Kansas City Free Health Clinic, an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Physician Assistant CE:
PAs can request a letter of attendance to submit to AAPA for credit.

 

Cancellation Policy: In order to reduce expenses for meals purchased for individuals who register but do not attend, it has become necessary to implement a cancellation policy. We will charge a fee of $40.00 to anyone who fails to cancel their registration before noon on the Monday prior to the program date. Also, we will no longer accept free on-site registrations. This means that you must register on our website to attend the program free of charge.
